Title: Installation of Automated Check-in Conveyor System including E&M System, Programming, SCADA, Vision detection & Robot Application.

Content: Automated Check-in Conveyor System is based on the actual design from the HK International Airport. Conventionally, it is still relying on the operators to help the passengers to check-in.

This is a demonstration kits designed mainly for education uses.

It consists of several individual equipment providing different operating function, such as

-Weighting

-Bar code scanning

-RFID reading

-Vision detection

-Robot application

By installed the Automated Conveyor System, it proves that fully automated Check-in Conveyor System brings the hope to the labor shortage and fatigue of the operators.

This project can be divided into two parts, the first part including the logic of the conveyor system (PLC and SCADA control) and purely mechanical installation. The latter part is to integrate the vision detection robot arm & VGA transportation system with the conveyor system to achieve fully automation.

The core control system is based on a PLC, which is used to demonstrate to students how to apply conveyor belts and related equipment in an industrial context for detecting and simulating the luggage handling system at Hong Kong International Airport.

After our dedication and support by VTC, this system is fully function and satisfy. Our next step is to promote this system into commercial usage.
