Introduction: WYE was responsible for integration of a new safety monitoring add-on system for the MTR, collaborating with SICK and Siemens. To provide an intelligent layer for enhanced passenger safety and operational efficiency, WYE engineered a custom automation program from scratch. The project encompassed hardware installation and software development, including SICK sensor placement, Siemens PLC logic configuration, and custom HMI integration for a flexible Gap Hanging Detector (GHD) timer control.
WYE is capable offer custom, enterprise-scale solutions compatible with rigorous MTR standards, providing full technical support, installation, and custom programming for advanced sensors and HMI interfaces.
Results
The implementation of this add-on system provides MTR with an intelligent, multi-layered safety barrier that actively prevents door obstructions causing accidents. The introduction of flexible peak and non-peak timing control significantly optimizes station efficiency.
