Introduction: WYE was responsible to design the cable management system for the production area and install a PLC control system with a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for a Clean-in-Place (CIP) system. This CIP system manages steam, water, and cleaning agents for a liquid filling machine. Additionally a  build in data-logging function at HMI to easily track and export operation records. Throughout the project, WYE provided expert technical assistance, proving our ability to deliver food-grade compliant CIP programming.

Scope of Work

  • Design: Planned the cable management for both the PLC and power systems in the production area. Programmed the CIP system based on the T.A.C.T. (Time, Action, Chemistry, Temperature) framework and integrated it into the HMI controls.

  • Installation: Installed the PLC, power connections, and HMI control panel, and completed all wiring for the 3-pump system.

  • Debugging & Optimization: Conducted field tests for the PLC-controlled CIP system. Fine-tuned the T.A.C.T. program to ensure the system meets strict food-grade hygiene standards and leaves zero chemical residue.

Results

The newly installed CIP system with HMI control offers real-time progress tracking and a much simpler user experience. Furthermore, the HMI operations history log allows the client to effortlessly export data and generate hygiene reports for quality control.
